I spent some time writing this morning. I write best when I leave the house. I had planned to meet my friend Amy at the Coffee Hag at 8:30 a.m., but I decided to get an earlier start. However, I discovered that two downtown Mankato coffee shops don’t open until 8 a.m. I did find Tandem Bagels open and ready for business. Above is the view from my table.

I went to the Coffee Hag at 8:30 to meet up with Amy. She printed out a draft of her memoir for the first time. A critical moment! Amy’s folders deservedly get their own chair:

It was nice to spend a couple of hours on a weekend writing. It’s rarely happening during the week. It just shows the importance of carving out time, making a date, and getting it on the calendar.
