If I weren’t presenting at the South Dakota Festival of Books this weekend, I would be participating in Mankato’s cemetery walk Saturday, Sept. 27, at the beautiful and historic Glenwood Cemetery.

The weather is supposed to be gorgeous! And the trees are starting to turn colors here in southern Minnesota. I hope some of you can make it to this event! Bring your cameras, like I did a few years ago!

The walk is from 3-5 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery (711 Glenwood Ave.) and actors will be portraying historical characters and telling stories. Guided tours leave every 20 minutes.

From 5-8 p.m. you can attend a chili or soup supper at the American Legion in Mankato (222 E. Walnut St.).

Prices for the cemetery walk and/or supper appear on the poster below. Proceeds go to the Boy in Blue Memorial Project. The Boy in Blue committee hopes to re-erect a Civil War statue that once stood in a Mankato park.
