* Morrissey’s birthday. He’s 56 years old today and still going strong. His obsessive fan base shows no signs of abating. Though I keep hoping when he’s 70 or 75, he’ll hit the Mankato Event Center or Arts Center of Saint Peter circuit.

* Program director for a day, Shuffle Function, KMSU-FM, Mankato. Shy Boy Tim and Shelley are nice enough to allow me into the studio around Moz’s birthday and we dedicate the show to him. This year I had to do it a day early since they were doing a Bob Dylan show on May 22. Are you as tired of mainstream radio as I am? * Got tickets for the July 13 Morrissey concert in St. Paul. Like a dope, I was so busy at #AWP15 this year that I spaced buying tickets when they went on sale. When I checked a couple of days later, the show had already sold out. I found a nice pair of tickets on Craigslist and they didn’t even cost an arm and a leg. Now, if we can only get Morrissey to not cancel this tour…

What’s making me happy is having a lot of time to be with my husband this weekend. Well, not today, since he’s working, but we watched some good movies and a weird whacked-out one, too, Friday, Saturday, and yesterday. Though I don’t have time to do so, it was really nice to relax my brain.
