I gave a reading and talk at the Arlington Public Library on a seasonable, yet cloudy, day.
Do you ever wonder where the readers are? They’re in rural Minnesota. My best-attended book events have been in small-town libraries. These libraries have dedicated staff, patrons, and friends-of-the-library groups. They always make me feel welcome. More than 30 people showed up on Sunday, and the library staff and volunteers even had to go into the basement to get more chairs. That’s a good sign.
Just like small towns always put on the best celebrations…
