When I was in Washington, D.C., in August for a conference, I took some time to visit the National Museum of Women in the Arts (thanks, Amy, for the suggestion!).
A museum visit is like a meditation to me. I like to walk through and stop in front of works of art that speak to me. I think of a divining rod — instead of water, I’m looking for stories.
After some time away from the visit, I like to go back to any photos I took and see if I can find a pattern among the works. Trying to find a pattern in the following works, after more than a month away, is a cool exercise.
What do you see?
Untitled #4 by Daniela Rossell.
After the Storm by Sarah Bernhardt (yes, the actress).
La Llamada by Remedios Varo
Dolly Parton, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, by Annie Liebovitz
