I’m rockin’ the late ’80s look. I think that’s Greg Gagne in the background. He was my favorite Twins player. We shared a Nov. 12 birth date.
In honor of going to a Twins game tonight, I thought I’d post a couple of photos from my family’s trip to Ft. Meyers, Fla., for Twins spring training in 1988.
This was the year after the Twins won the World Series, so excitement surrounding the team was high. My dad always liked baseball, but 1987 made my mom and I baseball fans, too.
This was my first trip on an airplane. I was 13 years old.
Things have changed a bit for the sport since 1988! Fancy new stadiums, crazy player salaries, big-time baseball celebrities, etc. Can you even get autographs like this at spring training anymore? They probably corral fans into a separate area and make them pay $5 for the honor!
Kept my Homer Hankey and framed Wheaties box. Great time for Minnesota Twins fans! Now living in KC, MO . . . Attend every Royals game the TWINS are playing.
Good for you! The Kansas City stadium is nice. I should make another road trip there!
