This is what $40 at FedEx/Kinko’s looks like.
I made two copies of my master’s thesis, one to send to someone and one to have on hand. I thought I had a physical, loose copy but if I do, I cannot find it. I wrote it in 2004 so who knows where those computer files are. I made copies from my one bound copy. It took about 20 minutes to copy it page by page. Fun times!
I also made a print out of Part I of my work-in-progress. It’s about 40,000 words and I used 1.5 spacing to save some paper. Sometimes you just need to read a hard copy, you know? The individual chapters are pretty separate, I’m afraid, and I need to read it through to see how I can best smooth things out.

Ha, ha. I’ve done print-on-demand of our books, and brevity is not a strong suit, so I know what it feels like apologizing to trees.
Why didn’t you just scan all the pages using OCR? Then you’d have it back on file.
