I’m honored to be part of this “Folios” edition of the journal War, Literature & the Arts. My friend, Jesse Goolsby, edited this edition. I saw his call for works on “peace” as a great exercise for me over winter break. I did not have time during this academic year to do any writing of my own at length. This essay on peace was all I could fit in. It’s not something I would have ever written about on my own without a prompt. I’m a journalist at heart; I like deadlines and assignments.
