When my book first came out in 2013, I knew of a lot of book clubs (especially in the Mankato area) that read it. I visited many book clubs and I loved hearing what people took away from the book. (And a lot of books clubs have wine! That was an added bonus, lol!).

By now I figure that everyone who was going to read the book has already read it. But I talked to an acquaintance a couple of weeks ago and she said her book club just finished my book.

And now I’m honored that a writer/artist I first met when she was a student in a class I taught at The Loft has chosen my book — and paired it with Alison Bechdel’s Fun Home — for her online Bloodmilk Book Club. I’ve been working with Jess on a one-on-one level as a writing coach, and I just love the opportunity to read her lyric essays in progress and meet with her to talk about writing.

So if you haven’t read my book and want to join others in doing so, and read it alongside Fun Home, I’d be honored. Fun Home was my major inspiration as I was writing We’ll Be the Last Ones to Let You Down. Read them both and see if you can find some relation.

The next stop on our Trunk Show tour is Seattle ! We’ve been honored to have been invited by @creaturahouse for a special evening July 7th from 7-10pm. We’ll have new jewels, unreleased jewels, one of a kind special gemstone jewels as well as a good selection of jewels from our current line🖤 We’ve been tinkering on a bunch of older designs in the studio this year and are finally able to add our beloved “Hecate” ring back to the shop. This reincarnation features a setting fully composed of life cast bat wing bones, paired with our usual line up of gemstone options: Onyx, Moonstone & Labradorite. We’ll also be reintroducing this design with a sliver ‘gemstone’ option as we had in the very early days, which is a slightly distressed ( to me, they look akin to how very mirrors age over time )cast gemstone shaped jewel.
